Webinar: Tackling Tobacco in California: New Laws Regulating Tobacco Sales

California’s recently enacted tobacco control laws raise the minimum age for tobacco sales to 21, strengthen regulations on e-cigarettes, and make changes to the state’s tobacco retailer licensing program. This webinar will provide an overview of these new state laws and outline how the changes affect tobacco control work at the local level. Presenters will also briefly discuss the final rule the US Food and Drug Administration issued to regulate e-cigarettes and other tobacco products. Hosted by ChangeLab Solutions and the American Lung Association in California Center for Tobacco Policy & Organizing, the webinar will also examine strategies that coalitions can use to address questions and concerns from local communities. The California Tobacco Control Program will be available to discuss the state’s implementation of the new laws as well as guidance for local communities.
